Riverine Update (Thursday, November 14, 2024)
Flooding Receding:
Good news! The Ogeechee River appears to have crested, and the water levels are beginning to recede.
The Southeast River Forecast Center (SERFC) has been a key partner in our monitoring efforts, working closely with us to track the rivers’ levels. They have confirmed that this recent high tide likely marked the peak of the flooding. While it will take a few tide cycles for the water to fully recede, we expect to see continued improvement in the coming days.
Lingering Effects:
Some inundation may persist, particularly in low-lying areas adjacent to the Ogeechee River, especially during high tides. Please continue to exercise caution and avoid driving through any flooded areas.
Our Commitment:
We will continue to monitor the situation and City crews are prepared to respond to any issues that may arise.
Stay Informed:
We will continue to provide updates if any significant changes occur. For the most up-to-date and accurate information, please continue to follow official news sources and government channels.
