Burning yard debris in Richmond Hill is a more serious threat to our community health & welfare than previously believed. It has been banned by many state and local governments for 2 reasons: 1) It is the #1 cause of wildfires 2) Scientific studies have linked backyard burning to serious health problems especially for children, the elderly and those with pre-existing respiratory conditions (such as asthma, sinusitis, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, lung cancer) and even heart disease.
Living in close proximity to backyard burning (where
many RH lots are approximately 1/2 acre or less) makes it extremely difficult to avoid inhaling the smoke as it enters our yards and homes. So what are some safe and healthy alternatives? Now that RH has a recycling program, residents can place their yard debris in provided receptacles. RH could also provide composting bins at a reduced cost or show residents how to build one. Let’s all work together to make RH a healthy place to live – and breathe!

I would like the City of RH to paint in a crosswalk with lighted flashing signs on each side ( East/West) of Ford Ave. so pedestrians can access Gregory Park and the city buildings from the West side of Ford Ave.
With the amount of homes on the West side of Ford Ave and all the festivities that take place in the park, it only makes sense for the city to provide a safe way for pedestrians to cross traffic.
I'd much rather stop for pedestrians at a crosswalk than risk a terrible accident between a pedestrian and a vehicle.

I am military wife living in Piercefield. My neighbors and I have kids and we get together almost everyday afterschool infront of my house for them to play. We also like going walking together around the neighborhood with our kids. I'm noticing cars don't care about the 25 speed limit or the Children at Play signs in this neighborhood. We were walking tonight and a car almost hit me on Piercefield Dr. The driver (she) didn't care that there were children riding their bike and it wasn't like we were in the middle of the road because we wasn't. We were on the left shoulder side of the road and the driver wasn't going the speed limit. The speed limit is a big problem. We need sidewalks and more officers enforcing the speed limit in this neighborhood.

Hello! My name is Charles Nowell, A 16 year old citizen of Richmond Hill. I have lived in Richmond Hill all of my life, and the quality of the city has never seemed to disappoint me, until I was milliseconds away from being crushed by a raised-up Ford F150 while on my bike ride to work. Not only was I frightened like a 5 year old watching Goosebumps, but I was....angry. I'm sure this request will just end up being discarded without being looked at, but if someone is indeed looking at this, please notice the lack of sidewalks in this city. Below I have put a link to a picture I made on my computer. It shows my morning and afternoon commute to and from work. I live in Plantation Apartments (I know right, a white kid in Plantation? I love stereotypes.) and I work at the YMCA Summer Camp at First Baptist Church.
Thank you for your time.

I think that the city needs to concentrate on bringing decent businesses to the area and not all of these Dollar stores, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Goodys etc.... Why can't we have something that Savannah hasn't tried (and failed with Goody's) like maybe a Hobby Lobby or something, Chick-fil-A? We always get the junk stores and the city looks more and more like trash everyday! I have lived here my entire life (35years) and think that it is a disgrace to have 3 autoparts stores, 2 dollar stores, a car service center , 2 car washes, 2 plant nurseries and Uppercrust (which is an eyesore) at the Entrance to Richmond Hill! We need some old style buildings, something nice to look at and stop with all of the junky places. Are we trying to bring poverty to Richmond Hill? Goodwill, dollar stores etc.... are not even Mid-scale stores; Plant nurseries are at least a start to looking nice, at least they have something natural. AND STOP CUTTING DOWN ALL OF THE TREES!

Someone needs to monitor this light and adjust the pattern. The backup created is ridiculous. After running into this backup AGAIN today we again turned around to go through Midway taking our $Dollars with us and away from you. After returning home I also saw 2 friends on social media making the same complaint who also turned around. We'll return with our $ when the problem is fixed, till then, Midway all the way!

I am sick of those who don't care about where they live, their house, street, and neighborhood! I have watched this neighborhood go down in disrepair since I moved here in 1999.
why have a code enforcement dept if they are only addressing an issue if someone complains? most neighbors are not going to say anything because they have to give their name and address, therefore are afraid to call.
also, streets that have a culdesac circle, residents need to be required to maintain the circle, since the city doesn't.
I live on the west half of our street and one resident on the circle and myself are the only ones who ever do anything to maintain it, and I don't even live down at the circle. there are 5 houses on the culdesac itself which would end up like once a month one of them would need to cut the grass. just not fair.
also, the fence all the way around Teal Lake Subdivision NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED!!! as well as the property fence located 533 Falcon Dr. at Casey!
PLEASE ADVISE.

As Richmond Hill continue growing and building new communities to accommodate more families, this section is becoming more dangerous for the night time drivers. Furthermore, for our High Schools students who are driving to school in these upcoming seasons of fall and winter where the day light comes out later during the morning hours and the afternoons are short. In addition, is becoming a hot area with no safe driving assurance for those who are entering to Brisbon Rd when traveling on Harris Trail Rd.
I anticipate the prompt response from Coastal Electric in joint with the motivation of the Richmond Hill City council to take into consideration this request. In my opinion, it seem easy because Coastal Electric plant is in this same corner where the NEW light pole is needed.
Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Sincerely,

I'm just trying to spread the word that the previous company that owned the property has moved onto their next development after we purchased the property from them on 7/31/19. We have a lot planned on upgrading the amenities and living quarters, so if you, or anyone you know is in the market for a new apartment let us know! We have 3 brand new buildings that are completely vacant and ready for people to move into, so if you are interested in a showing feel free to set up an appointment by contacting us online at latituderichmondhill.com or give us a call at 912-756-2763!
