Administrative Services Division
The Administrative Services Division is under the command of Captain Brad Sykes. The division controls the operations of all administrative activities such as the records, Municipal Court, crime statistics, building operations, training, state certification, community relations, internal affairs, and recruitment.
Criminal Investigations Division
The Criminal Investigation Division is under the command of Sergeant Richard Green. The division performs the investigative functions of the Department. The Division is responsible for the documentation, compilation, and distribution of facts on reported incidents of crime with the objective of identification and apprehension of the criminal offender. Property, evidence, crime scene investigations, and narcotics investigations are included within the division.
Patrol Division
The Patrol Division is under the command of Captain Steven Potts and Lieutenant Lee Rodriguez. The division is the largest in the department and the most visible.
Patrol completes preliminary investigations on all calls for service, determining if crimes have occurred, if specialized units need to be contracted to complete investigations, or they may complete the investigations themselves.
Community-oriented policing is used by officers to identify problems within their area, focus on them, and alleviate the problem in an efficient manner when preventative patrol techniques do not work.
Other duties include traffic enforcement, and other traffic-related duties, regulation of certain businesses or activities as provided for by law, coordination of emergency services, and reporting information to appropriate organizational components.
